Feeling Thankful

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, how many times you’ve stopped to think about the things you are thankful for – or should be thankful for?

Thanksgiving is the one day in the year that is specifically created for us to reflect on all the things we are thankful for, and all the blessings in our lives. It’s easy to get stressed out, focus on the negative things, or let the annoying things get you down. But if you purposefully stop, and literally count your blessings… there are SO many.

Number one… you woke up this morning and were probably able to get out of bed!

There is always something to be thankful for.

Number two… you can read this post. Did you know that approximately 32 million adults in the United States are considered to be illiterate? That’s roughly 14% of the entire adult population. And what about the rest of the world? The numbers are probably staggering.

Number three…you probably live in the United States where you have freedom of expression, and the right to live and worship however you choose.

Number four… the air you’re breathing is clean. Not everyone can say that. There are countries across the world where the air quality is alarmingly unsafe.

Number five… you likely have a job or even better – a business! With income coming in, you don’t have to worry where your next meal is coming from. In fact, today, you’re about to sit at a table full of so much food you’ll be eating leftovers for days. Not everyone is that lucky.

Number six… you have a roof over your head.

Number seven… you have family and friends who love and support you and who you can be with today. Some people have no support system. Others have deployed family members that they are missing.

This is just the tip of the iceberg folks. There are SO many things to be thankful for! What are you thankful for this holiday?
