Getting Started with Income Tax Courses is Easy…
When you are ready to register for income tax courses, simply select the course that meets your needs and register online or by phone at 1-800-984-1040.
Instructor Support
- You will be assigned an instructor who will be available for questions with the income tax course material. To contact your instructor, simply send an email to your assigned instructor and he/she will respond within a maximum of 2 business days. Response time is usually within the same day of your question if it is during the work week. Your instructor is not just an academic professor. All of The Income Tax School’s instructors work in the tax business and deal with taxpayers and tax issues on a daily basis. In addition to instructor support, we also have a student forum where students can post questions and view other students' questions and answers from our instructors.
Course Material
- All tax course text material and required reference material is available online with access 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All online courses (30 hours or more) include a hard copy of the tax course material at no additional cost. These hard copy materials (which include all necessary tax forms for homework, quizzes, etc.) provide students the option to read offline. Students also save money and time by not having to print the text and forms. In addition, the textbook serves as a reference manual for future use when preparing tax returns.
When You Register For An Online Tax Preparation Course
(all materials are available online and all assigments are entered online for immediate grading)
- Upon receipt of your order, we will contact you by email to issue your username and password along with directions on how to begin the course within 1 business day. Any hard copy tax course materials will ship within 1 business day via UPS Ground. Should you need the book sooner, an additional fee will apply. Please be sure to give a physical street address and not a P.O. Box, as UPS will not deliver to a P.O. Box.
- Once you receive your email with your username and password you can begin immediately. You do not need to wait for any hard copy materials as all course information and reference material is also available online. Since the online tax education courses have automatic grading, you can move through the course at your own pace, emailing your instructor when you have questions. Please be aware of the time limits for the course, which are listed under the enrollment terms. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a Certificate of Completion by U.S. Mail.
Graduation Information
- Students must finish the registered income tax courses and achieve a 70% or greater on all homework assignments, quizzes and exams in order to be awarded a Certificate of Achievement documenting successful completion of the course through The Income Tax School.
Continuing Professional Education Requirements
- Graduates who are Certified Public Accountants (CPAs), Certified Financial Planners (CFPs ®), or Enrolled Agents* (EAs) may be awarded credit toward requirements for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) by successfully completing courses through The Income Tax School. *Verification of CPE credit should be obtained before enrolling in a course since this varies from state to state.
