Within 15 calendar days following receipt by email of an e-learning student User ID, a student may cancel enrollment and receive a full refund of all tuition and fees less shipping charges incurred by The Income Tax School, provided that:

  1. The student has shipped any printed books back to The Income Tax School in resalable condition within that same time frame.
  2. The student has not accessed more than the first three chapters of the first module in the first course.

Please Note:

  • Tax Business Start-up Guides are non-refundable.
  • Installment fees are non-refundable.
  • Printed books must be retuned at the student’s expense.
  • Returned books must be in resalable condition.
  • If printed books are returned but are not in resalable condition, an individual book fee (based on current retail price) will apply based on the percentage of damage to the book. Example: 4 modules = each module is valued at 25% of total book fee. There should be no signs of wear/damage to the book. Wear/damage to book is defined as highlighting or writing in the book, folding or dog-earring the book, torn or missing pages, smell of smoke, etc. Original protective wrapping may be missing.
  • If printed books are not returned there will be no refund.

Refunds must be requested by giving notice of cancellation within the time frame specified for the course completion or one year of the date of enrollment, whichever is earlier. Please allow 30 days for refunds to be processed. Dependent on your credit card provider, refunds may take 1-2 billing cycles to appear on your statement.

Refund Policy

If cancellation occurs after 15 days and prior to one year of receipt of a student User ID, the following refund policies will apply:

If cancellation occurs before completion of or access to less than 50% of a course the student is currently enrolled within the Chartered Tax Certificate Program, the student will receive a prorated refund of tuition of the course currently enrolled in, as well as any other courses in the program that have not been accessed

  1. The refund will be calculated as follows:
    • a discounted price of each course in the program (listed in #5 below), less a $100 registration fee and any shipping charges incurred by The Income Tax School.
    • any additional discounts that were applied at the time of purchase will be taken into account when a refund is calculated.
    • any printed books received must be returned at the student’s expense. Returned books must be in resalable condition. If the books are not in resalable condition, an individual book fee (based on current retail price) will apply based on the percentage of damage to the book. Example: 4 modules = each module is valued at 25% of total book fee. There should be no signs of wear/damage to the book. Wear/damage to book is defined as highlighting or writing in the book, folding or dog-earring the book, torn or missing pages, smell of smoke, etc. Original protective wrapping may be missing.
  2. If printed books are not returned there will be no refund.

  6. No refunds will be made after one year from the date the student ID was issued.

If cancellation occurs after completion of more than 50% of a course within the Chartered Tax Certificate Program, the student will not be entitled to a refund for that course, but will be entitled to a prorated refund of any courses not accessed.

  1. The refund will be calculated as follows:

Extension for Chartered Programs:

Students who do not finish a course within The Chartered Tax Certificate Program may request an extension. Extension terms are 3 months for 30 hour courses and 6 months for 60 hour courses. Only one extension may be issued per course within The Chartered Tax Certificate Programs. Additional printed books are available for a fee. Students have 180 days after the expiration of their course date to be granted an extension. Please note that the course edition you need an extension for may be an outdated version at the time of your request, and an extension may cause you to start the course over.
