Charles E. McCabe, CEO of Richmond-based The Income Tax School (ITS), announced the launch of a new e-commerce website (www.TheIncomeTaxSchool.com) to improve the experience of ITS website visitors. “Our new website is much easier for people to navigate and find what they are looking for very quickly,” noted McCabe. “In addition,” he continued, “the website content has been streamlined and rewritten to better describe the features and benefits of our products and services.”
ITS serves four customer segments: (1) Individuals seeking to become employed or self-employed as tax professionals, (2) Tax business owners seeking to recruit and train new tax preparers or provide in-house employee training, (3) tax professionals seeking to earn continuing education (CE) or credentials, or to meet IRS Preparer Requirements; and (4) tax professionals and tax firms seeking to build their businesses. “A main page is provided for each of these customer segments that can be quickly identified and accessed from the ITS home page,” explained McCabe. The ITS Tax Course Catalog includes more than 60 products ranging from short CE seminars to individual courses, course bundles, IRS exam reviews and a certificate program leading to the prestigious designation of Chartered Tax Professional (CTP®).
This year, The Income Tax School was ranked #1 for online tax education by TrendLists. Former IRS Deputy Asst. Commissioner and District Director, Roger K. Burgess, commented: “The Income Tax School invests significantly to ensure the very best curriculum development and content delivery. Feedback from participants has been excellent and truly supports The Income Tax School’s position that it sets the standard for tax preparer training.”
McCabe pointed out that the new IRS tax preparer regulations implemented January 1, 2012 will create professional career opportunities for people seeking employment or self-employment. “The regulations will enhance the credibility of the tax preparation profession which had been tarnished by many unqualified tax preparers in the past,” he said.
Sheila Clark, Director of The Income Tax School, said “we offer an online Tax Pro Career and a Tax Business package which include our Comprehensive Tax Course covering all topics on the RTRP exam. The 20-lesson, 60-hour e-learning course also includes free RTRP practice exam questions and satisfies the graduate’s first year IRS 15-hour CE requirement. The tax business version includes a home-based tax office operations manual and a tax service marketing handbook to help graduates start their own tax businesses,” she explained.
“Tax preparation is an ideal career option for early retirees who don’t need to work year-round, and for stay-at-home parents with young children who wish to be off when their children are home during the summer months,” noted McCabe. “Tax preparation is also a good complement for financial service and real estate professionals,” he said. “College students could also learn tax preparation to obtain practical knowledge and valuable job experience as tax preparers.”
