Peoples Tax School President Elected to Executive Committee of Career College Advisory Board

Richmond, VA — Peoples Income Tax School President Charles E. McCabe was elected on October 26, 2005 by the members of the Career College Advisory Board (CCAB) to the 5-member CCAB Executive Committee to represent in-state proprietary career colleges and schools. CCAB was created this year to advise the State Council of Higher Education of Virginia (SCHEV) on issues related to private proprietary institutions of higher education and academic-vocational non-college degree schools. Each of the 135 Virginia Career Schools certified by SCHEV to operate in Virginia may appoint one representative to CCAB to serve a term of two years.

Peoples Income Tax School (PTS) was formed in 1990 as a division of Richmond-based Peoples Income Tax, Inc. founded in 1987 by Mr. McCabe who serves as President and CEO. PTS offers a series of courses in basic, intermediate, advanced and small business income tax preparation to train tax professionals. PTS also provides Continuing Professional Education (CPE) to CPAs as a sponsor of the National Society of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), as well as Qualifying and Continuing Education required by the California Tax Education Council (CTEC) for tax professionals to practice in California. Live classes are conducted by PTS locally and online classes are taught by PTS nationwide. PTS also provides curriculum (student texts, instructor guides and school operating manuals) to independent tax and accounting firms, and some colleges, nationwide.
