Refund Policy
If cancellation of enrollment occurs after 5 days of receipt of a student User ID, the following refund policies will apply:
- If cancellation occurs after 10 business days, the student will receive a refund less a 25% registration fee provided that any graded assignments have not been accessed.
- If cancellation occurs after accessing any graded assignments, the student will not be entitled to a refund.
Refunds must be requested by giving notice of cancellation within the course access time frame specified. Please allow 30 days for refunds to be processed. Refunds may take 1-2 billing cycles to appear on your statement dependent on your credit card provider.

If cancellation occurs before completion of or access to less than 50% of a course the student is currently enrolled within the Chartered Tax Certificate Program, the student will receive a prorated refund of tuition of the course currently enrolled in, as well as any other courses in the program that have not been accessed
- The refund will be calculated as follows:
- a discounted price of each course in the program (listed in the below), less a $100 registration fee and any shipping charges incurred by Surgent ITS.
- any additional discounts that were applied at the time of purchase will be taken into account when a refund is calculated.
- Any printed/hard copy books purchased are a separate fee and are nonrefundable.
- Guide to Start and Grow Your Successful Tax Business and/or Tax Business Start-up Guides are nonrefundable.
- Installment/Payment Plan fees are nonrefundable.
- No refunds will be made after one year from the date the student ID was issued.

Extension for Chartered Programs
Students who do not finish a course within The Chartered Tax Certificate Program may request an extension. Extension terms are 3 months for 30 hour courses and 6 months for 60 hour courses. Only one extension may be issued per course within The Chartered Tax Certificate Programs. Additional printed books are available for a fee. Students have 180 days after the expiration of their course date to be granted an extension. Please note that the course edition you need an extension for may be an outdated version at the time of your request, and an extension may cause you to start the course over.
