H & R Block and other nationwide tax services recruit most of their tax preparers from students who graduate from their own tax courses. However, if they do not have enough qualified graduates, they would likely be receptive to hiring someone who has completed a tax course elsewhere. Many independent tax firms also hire new tax preparers every tax season. You might want to talk to local tax firms before committing to taking the course. Self-employment is also an option.
